legal responses in times of crisis: sant’anna school law scholars organize seminars and conferences to be held from november 9 to december 7, 2018

The PhD in Law program at Sant’Anna School, under the scientific supervision of Professor Gianluigi Palombella, hosts five international conferences , to be held from November 9 to December 7, 2018, to provide doctoral students and legal scholars a forum to discuss and debate the rule of law in times of crisis. The first conference to be held on November 9, aims to facilitate meaningful academic dialogue on legislative power, good governance and the relationships between public and private sectors.

On 26 November 2018, the conference will focus on the legal framework for digital technologies, market competition and climate change. On 30 November 2018, the conference participants will discuss populism and the role of law for constitutional democracies.

On 6 December 2018, participants will have the opportunity to debate information security and privacy in big data lifetime. On 7 December 2018, the theoretical discussion will analyze the principles of criminal justice and legal responses in conjunction with economic and financial crisis. With a special focus on the development of a comprehensive policy response, NGOs representatives and entrepreneurs will discuss a multidisciplinary approach to tackle threat and risk of illicit trade.
